How Can there be only 1 Correct Church if there are so Many Different Christian Denominations?
I have to say that I nearly lost my faith because of this very issue of why are there so many hundreds of Christian denominations. After all – they can’t all be right – yet they all claim that all the others except themselves are wrong.
I began to feel that they must perhaps all be wrong since there is not a single denomination that thinks they themselves are wrong, and many are exclusive – that is they say that only the TRUE church, whatever that is will be saved.
Well after taking this to God many times and pleading he shed light on this – this is exactly what he did for me.
The Bible Tells us This is What We Must Expect!
1 Corinthians 1:10-13 “I beseech you that there be NO division among you!” How clear can it get!!!!!
It was when I realised this, that my faith began to recover. Not only does the Bible say we all see through a glass darkly. The video below sheds some interesting light on this.
Then God gave me the answer – I was looking at the whole issue wrong. Instead of questioning why there were so many denominations and getting down and depressed about it.. the REAL question I should have been asking was: why wouldn’t there be a thousand denominations? Really – why wouldn’t there be? What I mean is – man is a sinner right? Man thanks he knows best. So you let men loose on the earth and inevitably they will form a thousand factions not just when it comes to religion – but with any other dogma. IT’S TO BE EXPECTED!
Now my depression over the whole issue began to lift like a cloud. So knowing that a domination is essentially usually a split – where two or more people in any given church start arguing over doctrine and forma new branch – I should actually be surprised if there was only one denomination!
So what do we do? Does all this in the end have something to do with the famous biblical phrase – “come out of her my people?” – ie come out of Babylon – come out of the confusion. Come back to the root – come back to the plain simple truth of non-denominational Jesus?
