If Asexuality Isn’t Wrong, Why Does the Bible Say Homosexuality is?

Question: So there’s a lot going on about whether or not homosexuality is a sin or not, but about asexuality? If asexuality isn’t a sin, then why is it okay while homosexuality is considered sinful? Both defy the norm, so why would exceptions be made for one but not the other?

Answer: good question, but asexuality is essentially not doing something – i.e not having relations at all. So it’s not comparable to a sexual act or thought at all – i.e something you actually do. Only something you do or think can be right or wrong. Also, you seem to be making your judgement about wether something is a sin or not according to someones’s preferences – since asexuality is the lack of desire for sex with anyone.

The Bible simply holds the view that some things, one of them the union of two species outside the normal natural created order – i.e the one the birds, bees and bears adhere to (and I’m not talking about the often quoted; monkeys pairing up to pleasure themselves – I’m talking actually ‘marrying’ – becoming united as a couple) is wrong period wether one desires to do so or not – just like it talks of anything The Bible considers sinful.

In terms of the order of things, how many female chaffinches do you see pairing up either temporally or permanently with the same gender in nature, or male sparrows, or whales or sharks or dolphins? Even though The Bible tells us the creation is fallen – and the natural order is somewhat disturbed and altered, I’ve never seen it myself. Feel free to correct me if you have, or if you found some evidence to show that the natural order is generally otherwise.
