How to Block Google Calendar Spam | Stop Google Calendar Events Spam

There has to be a better way?!! To what? Of of stopping or banning Google calendar spam. OK – so how to block Google Calendar spam. Or to put it another way – how do you remove Google Calendar spam that keeps popping up every so often and wastes hours and hours of time – not only trying to find the reason why this happens.

I used to like SPAM.

I’m being a bit facetious – but come on.. why the spam in the first place big G? My dog cold spot some of the junk that lands in my calendar. Well anyway – the best question to answer is probably – how do you stop spam appearing in your Google calendar in the first place? So here we will answer this question (why the even entries are allowed to automatically appear in the first place we do not know but I guess at this point it’s irrelevant).

Best way of stopping & blocking Google calendar spam from automatically appearing

There are TWO settings you need to change on your Google Calendar Settings page;

  1. Go to your Google Calendar.
  2. Click the Settings icon top right (a cog icon).
  3. Pull your hair out and shout some more (no not really 🙂
  4. In Settings – click Events from Gmail (left menu)
  5. Under Event settings (on man page – not left menu), click dropdown that says; ‘Add invitations to my calendar’.
  6. Select ‘When I respond to the invitation.’
  7. Scroll down to heading Events from Gmail.
  8. Uncheck the box that says; ‘Show events automatically created by Gmail in my calendar‘.
  9. Get a glass of strong drink (kidding).
