Many people might argue that Christians don’t have a sense of humour at all -(or some that the entire faith is a joke). As they take life so seriously. But I would argue the Christians are some of the most humorous people I know, as they have gained the ability to laugh at themselves having accepted themselves as sinners. This does something to one’s soul and I believe opens up the possibly for even more fun and laughter than before – despite life’s trials and tribulations. Humility makes one open to being laughed at too – in a good and fun way.
What really make someone funny?
As a Christian I firmly feel that accepting Christ is the perfect recipe for humour as there is no room for pride – it’s about self-deprecation and truth – the basis of humour. Trying to be funny is a recipe for joke-disaster too – much better to look at life and put your own spin on things rather than construct a false identity that is ‘funny’. Life has more than enough humour in it to keep a comedian going! And there is more than enough tragedy for the same.
